But I saw the light (no pun intended) when you posted your comment! Not the outside. The glass gives it a beautiful finished look.
mbmbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17700705597056252895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6449580376492342290.post-33778898543297098352010-02-24T12:04:48.861-05:002010-02-24T12:04:48.861-05:00omg, thank you!! This sounds like a fun project, though ... way more affordable! I'll let you know how it goes.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06334971696013186582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6449580376492342290.post-35195055522612473512010-02-24T11:47:55.627-05:002010-02-24T11:47:55.627-05:00You can do this. Find some fabulous wrapping paper at a wonderful shop. Get to cutting with your trusty nail scissors. Get out the Elmers school glue... really... and paint the slightly watered down glue onto the surface that you want to see through the glass. Place onto the inside of the "lamp" and smooth out all of the extra glue and bubbles. Check from the outside of the glass to see if you have any bubbles showing. Clean off excess glue and keep working until all the surfaces you want covered are done. Next, take some polymer medium and paint the back side of the images that you just glued onto the glass. Let dry. Next, paint the rest of the exposed inside glass with your favorite latex semi gloss paint. Let dry. If you need to have your upside down vase electrified, now is the time. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. A John Derian style lamp for a fraction of the price.
mb from Dallasmbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17700705597056252895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6449580376492342290.post-62012916592216188462010-02-23T21:09:44.912-05:002010-02-23T21:09:44.912-05:00Trust me, I will definitely be trying my hand at d...Trust me, I will definitely be trying my hand at decopauge. I haven't touched the stuff since eighth grade, when I made a really intricate cover for a binder.
