So, here it is. The "reading nook." (Obvious disclaimer: I need to take a photography class.)
Eeeek! Sure, it's come a long way since these days:
But I need to motivate! Actually sew the first skirt on to the slipcover, and pin and sew the second skirt while I'm at it. And how about ironing the fabric for the pillows and actually making cases, instead of just wrapping the fabric around the pillow forms.
Have you ever heard the saying "Fake it until you make it?" (My husband learned it in medical school ... scary thought, huh?) Well, I'm faking it all right. Now I need to make it.
Do you ever lose steam halfway through a project? How do you finally make yourself finish?

Oh dear, good luck!
Story of my life. I admire people that can see a project through to completion. But good luck!
Thanks! Ha, I'm not too shy to report that I didn't do any sewing or pinning tonight, either. I think a little self bribery is in store.
Love the look and the color of the pillows.
Nothing wrong with a little self-bribery!
Anyone who can make a slipcover is a Goddess in my eyes. My bird toile fabric came (before XMAS) for my simple chair pad upholstery job and so far, no steam to see it through! In fact, I have LOTS of projects going on at once - all finished midway due to evaporation of steam! xoTrina
New update: I ironed the fabric! Baby steps ...
It's nice to know I'm not the only one who fizzles out of steam halfway through.
I love the reading nook!
I have yet to get a slip cover to work properly! Nice job!
Losing steam halfway through is practically my MO! I usually get super-motivating when people are coming over. My house was in great shape during the holidays! Of course now I have started new projects ...
Getting that far with the slipcovers (heck, even attempting them) is very impressive!
Thank you! We're having people over this weekend, so maybe that will motivate me for real this time ...
Hello,
I'd appreciate if you can give me some feedback on our site: www.regencyshop.com
I realize that you are home decor-modern design connoisseur :) I'd like to hear your opinion/feedback on our products. Also, it'd be swell if you can place our tulip table on your blog.
Thank you,
Nancy
